Microvania
The theme for Blackthornprod Game Jam #3 was "Less is more", so I challenged myself to make a metroidvania on only one screen, and with a palette of only 4 colors. The result is a this cute little puzzle platformer, where each new powerup recontextualizes the space you are navigating. Then, at the end, you have to put all the powerups back, which is a wholly unique challenge as you have to figure out which order they must be returned in, you can't just do it in reverse order. I had a lot of fun making it, and I hope you enjoy it too!

Cute !
Such a cute little game. Though I don't think I was supposed to use the tractor beam to move me around as much as I did ^_^;
Nice one! Is this using the standard PICO-8 palette?! Looks so interesting.
Three of the colors are from the alternate palette. I really love the greens in that palette, they have a very nice hue shift across the gradient.
Beat it!
wtf is the dash????
way too powerful for a little blob character, certainly
I beat the final challenge with no problem, I don't think it was supposed to go like that.
It wasn't supposed to be super hard, just make you use a different combination of abilities, and hopefully use the otherwise underused tractor beam a little more fully.
Final challenge 😥
Really fun game!
Thanks!
